WILL OF JONATHAN POPPY.
This is the last Will and Testament of me Jonathan Poppy of GreatYarmouth in the County of Norfolk Hat manufacturer First I nominatemy son John Pallant Poppy Executor of this my Will and request him topay my funeral expenses out of the sum of eight pounds payable at mydeath for that purpose by the Friendly Society of which I am a Memberand if that sum shall be more than sufficient for that purpose then Igive the residue thereof to my Wife And I also give and bequeath untomy said wife my Bed Bedstead and other Utensils and things for her ownabsolute Use And as to the shares of certain sums of money to whichas the legal representative of my late Daughter Elizabeth I amentitled on reversion or expectancy upon the deaths of Sarah Crowfootand Elizabeth Watson respectively And as to all other my propertywhatsoever and wheresoever not hereinbefore specifically bequeathedafter payment thereout of my just debts and testamentary expenses Igive and bequeath unto and equally to be divided between my said wifeand my Children Mary the wife of Stephen Todd, Hannah the wife ofWilliam Gardiner, Eliza Poppy, Jemima Poppy, John Pallant Poppy andThomas Poppy to be payable and paid when and as the same shall bereceived into possession but I declare that in case my said wife orany or either of my said Children shall depart this life before anypart of my said expectant property shall become payable unmarried Andas to my children without lawful issue than I declare that the shareor shares of such persons so dying shall belong to and be payableequally to and between such of them my said Wife and Children as shallbe living at the time the same respective monies shall becomedivisible and to the children of such of them as may be then dead thechildren to take his her or their Patents share only And I revoke allWills made by me at any time heretofore In Witness whereof unto thismy last Will and Testament I the said Jonathan Poppy have set my handand seal the third day of November one thousand eight hundred andthirty seven

This Will was proved at Great Yarmouth on the thirty first day ofOctober 1843 before the Revd Henry William Clarke clerk Surrogate dulyappointed of the Worshipful William Yonge Clerk A.M OfficialPrincipal of the Episcopal Consistorial Court of Norwich lawfullyconstituted and was approved and admon of all and singular the goodsof the within names Jonathan Poppy the Testator dec. was on thefourth day of November following duly granted to John Pallant Poppyhis Son the sole Executor within named he being being duly sworn
