1901 Census Living Domestic Servant for the Woodgate Household. Roseage was given as 13. Elizabeth Woodgate aged 56 Head of householdwidower. also living at Ivy Cottage Son aged 22 and Daughter 15. In1881 Elizabeth's Husband Richard Woodgate was a Farmer with 416 AcresEmploying 12 Men and 4 Boys. Living Chelsworth Rd Monks Eleigh,Suffolk, England they had 5 Sons and 5 Daughters.
Rose left Hitcham/Chelsworth to return to London, whilst in Service,1910's Rose met, Ernest Charles Smith, Ernest and Rose exchanged manypostcards. Ernest died at Gallipoli 6th August 1915 service no 107284th Worc Regt prior to WW1 and Gallipoli, Ernest served in BareillyIndia.
From the Commonwealth War Commission Ernest was aged 31 at time ofdeath and is buried in Turkey [born 1884] Son of Charles and EstherAnn Smith, of Dean St., Brewood, Staffs.
Rose moved to Bedfordshire from London as a member of Lady Ampthil's"Oakley House, Household" and married twice.
